Fish samples were collected by using trawl net from both Marmara Lake and Homa Lagoon in April 2015. A total of 357 big-scale sand smelt were sampled of which 185 from Marmara Lake and 172 from Homa Lagoon were examined without regarding of sexes. Total length and weight distribution of the specimens were found to vary from 5.6 cm to 8.2 cm and 1.30 g to 3.99 g for Marmara Lake, from 3.7 cm to 9.9 cm and 0.32 g to 6.30 g for Homa Lagoon, respectively. The length–weight relationship equations were estimated as W=0.0059L3.118 (sh(b)=0.068), r=0.920 for Marmara Lake and as W=0.0077L2.925 (sh(b)=0.062), r=0.929 for Homa Lagoon. The samples from Marmara Lake showed positive allometric growth, while the samples from Homa Lagoon showed isometric growth. The condition factor value varied between 0.62 and 0.90 for Marmara Lake and varied between 0.38 and 0.94 for Homa Lagoon
