Turkey-Turkmenistan Trade Relations (1992–2014)

Abstract:

In this study, commercial affairs between Turkey and Turkmenistan in the period from 1992 to 2014 were investigated in terms of product-base. By years export and import values between Turkey and Turkmenistan in increases and decreases, products that are important in the trade of both countries have been investigated. In this study, the data is primarily based on export and import of Turkey Istatistical Institute between the years of 1992 and 2014, the data were rearranged by the study. It has been determined that the foreign trade volume between Turkmenistan and our country, where we have strong cultural ties in the conducted study is generally following an increasing trend. Our exports to Turkmenistan in 2013 increased by 32%to USD 1.957.484.112 compared to the previous year, in 2014 it increased by 14% to USD 2.232.838.303. In 2014, machinery, mechanical devices, electrical machinery, and appliances, their parts and components; furnishings, bedclothes; transportation means and chemical industry and related industrial products, are the products most exported to Turkmenistan. In 2013, our imports from Turkmenistan amounted to USD 653.814.962, increased by 115% compared to the previous year, and decreased by 5.4% to USD 624.090.765 in 2014 compared to the previous year. In 2014, textile articles to be convenient for weaving and the manufactured article from them, mineral substances; plastics, rubber and their finished goods, chemical industry and related industrial products; raw hides, leather, saddlery, bags, are the products most imported from Turkmenistan. The foreign trade volume between Turkmenistan and our country has generally increased, although it has followed an up and down course from time to time until 2002. Since 2002 it has shown a continuous increase (excluding 2012) and increased by 46% to 2.611.299.074 dollars compared to the previous year in 2013 and by 9.4% in 2014 to 2.856.929.068 dollars. By the continuation of this situation, the trade volume between Turkey and Turkmenistan will continue to increase
