EMPLOYMENT, UNEMPLOYMENT AND DECENTRALIZATION OF EMPLOYMENT POLICIES: A BRIEF EVALUATION OF IIMEK’SKeywords: ??sizlik,?stihdam,Sosyal Politika,Yerelle?me,??MEK Abstract: It is important that the social policies developed as a solution to the economic, political, social crisis and instability that occur on the world scale focus on the local problems, needs and addresses. The impact of local policies and local authorities, especially when considering regional differences and inequalities, is positively emphasized in all research. The success of employment and unemployment policies, which are at the center of social policies, also depends on an effective struggle at the local level. In this sense, Provincial Employment and Vocational Training Boards (IIMEK) were created with the Act no 5763 in 2008 with an amendment mede in Article 13, aiming to combat as the first task of provinces to create training and employment policies within the framework of compating regional unemployment. In this study, it is aimed to present the structure, functioning, efficiency, employment contribution and inadequacies of IIMEK and proposing solutions for them. As a result of the study, it has been seen that IIMEK are faced with some structural problems in general but the effects of improving employment opportunities have exacerbated these negativities
