Application of Two Hand Activity Analysis in Home Textile Packing Department

Method engineering is to use a systematic procedure to develop a work center, produce a product, or provide services. This procedure consists of eight steps: the selection of the project, data collection, data analysis, development of the ideal method, setting the method, job analysis, establishing time standards and following up the method. In this study, two hand motion analysis applications were carried out in the home textile packaging department in order to develop the ideal method. As a result of the application on three different models and ten employees in total, the hand movements of the employees were examined for three models, and in order to reduce the inefficient movements, various changes were proposed both in the principles of movement of the employees and in the work table arrangements. With the help of two hand motion analysis schemes used during the study, process times are reduced 34,7% for Model 1, 35,08% for Model 2 and 29,64% for Model 3. In addition to this, a new design of the work desk has been created to accelerate the movement of the employees and these designs are shown with the technical drawing
