The Judgment of Similarities Between Yesterday and Today in the Provisions of Islam

The Messenger of God peace be upon him made it clear in the hadith (prophetic tradition) that the halal (permissible) acts are clear and obvious？ the haram (impermissible) are also clear？ obvious and there is no doubt in them. However？ in that hadith He peace be upon him also mentioned that between those two are doubtful matters？ their rulings are not clear and only a few amongst the people know it's true ruling. Furthermore？ He peace be upon him mentioned that distancing one's self from all things that within them have doubtful matters is from complete piety and benefit for the religion. My research revolves around three fundamental questions: what are these "doubtful matters"？ what are they doubtful？ and are the matters that were once doubtful still doubtful. Discussed in the research are the causes of doubt as were mentioned by the expert scholars？ in reality they are many and have been in detailed in complete description. However？ I consolidated them to four main causes. They are; firstly: doubt in Asbab Secondly: mixing between the halal and haram thirdly: mixing between the evidences and fourthly: differences in opinions of the expert scholars. These were all discussed without mention of secondary reasons which stem from these main causes. After each main cause？ its connection with "doubtful matters"？ how we can be avoid doubt in matters？ and their rulings is discussed
