Basic Concepts in the Political Understanding of Shahrazuri: Solidarity, Love and Justice

Politics and the notions related to it in the world of Islamic thought, is tried to be worked and understood in a process that extends from the morality of the individual to the politics of the house and then to the politics of community. Shamsaddin Muhammad ibn Mahmud al-Shahrazuri, one of the most important personage of Illumination thought, follows the same method of morality and deals with the issue of politics in his work titled Rasail al-Shacara al-Ilahiyya fi Ulum al-Haqaiq al-Rabbaniyye. There are some notions which Shahrazuri brought to the forefront in political thought, one of which is love that forms the basis of philosopher's political understanding, and the other two are the notions of justice and solidarity. Our study focuses on why Shahrazuri brings the notion of love in his understanding of politics and on finding out his resources. Shahrazuri sees the notion of love superior than justice in terms of social order. According to him, justice will come out as a result of love spontaneously since a complete order will be taken place in a soceity where there is love
