A Review on Some Poems Related to the Tafseer Science, Mufasseers and Tafseers

The poetry has got a great importance in expressing the people’s emotions and opinions. This fact was mentioned by The Prophet and the poetry was used as a struggle tool against the opposite side during the first two centuries of Islam. The companions whom followed The Prophet’s foot steps also used the poetry in the social and scientifc life. The poetry among the Islamic Sciences was used especially in the tafseer discipline. Usually, the poetry was used in order to explain the verses’ meanings or to strengthen the interpretation but sometimes it is also proven to be used to praise or criticise a mufasseer or a tafseer work or to give information about the content of the work. Being vast majority of them about the works which were taught in Ottoman Madrasahs and their authors, other poems were also written about different authors from different time periods and their tafseer studies. These poems are important because they give us information about the significance of Tafseer discipline and its relation with literature, alongside the general idea of the people about tafseer discipline, tafseer works and their authors
