A Scholarly Tradition’s Center: Büyüka？a Qur’an Course -the H？fz Education, Its Characteristics, Problems And Expectations

Within the religious education services carried out in our country, a special importance is attached to the education of the hafizes recently. An important contribution to the studies in order to obtain the desired efficiency from this training will be by examining the Qur’an courses that have been in the foreground with the success in education and determining the characteristics that has been a model to the others. In our research we have done for this purpose, Büyüka？a Qur'an Course in Amasya was chosen as the study universe and the opinions of students and teachers were used in determining the factors that are effective in the success. In this study the mixed method was applied, it was found that both the spiritual atmosphere created by the historical place and the teachers' active communication with each other and the students, plays an important role in the success of the Büyüka？a Qur’an Course. However, it has also been found that a new regulation is required on the age of onset of hifz education and that the teachers also need in-service training on some issues
