Investigation of User Preferences on the Use of Edible Plants on Planting Designs of Public Parks, A Case of Konyaalt？, Antalya.

Previous studies show that by 2050, two thirds of the world’s population and %95 of the Turkey's population will live in urban areas, increasing the importance of providing not only environmental quality and livable spaces but food security and resilient food systems. In this context, despite the fact that the history of edible landscape design dates back to ancient times, edible landscape design approach in landscape designs for open green spaces in cities has come to the fore again. Edible landscape is a type of landscape that is the result of the use of edible plant species (fruit trees, vegetable species, edible flower species and other ornamental plants) to meet both nutritional needs and functional and aesthetic expectations in public or private property areas. The aim this study is to establish a conceptual framework for edible landscape design, to identify the opinions of users for the use of edible plant species in parks and to develop recommendations for edible landscape design. In this context, literature and applications related to the subject were examined, a questionnaire survey was conducted in the parks located in Antalya Konyaalt？ region and the data obtained were analyzed in the SPSS program. According to the results obtained from the research, The individuals who use the parks have a favourable opinion the use of edible plant species in the parks and think that implementing edible landscaping application in the parks will increase the use of parks
