The Role of Municipalities While Moving From Slow City Movement To Slow Food MovementKeywords: Slow Food,Belediye,Cittaslow Abstract: Nutrition is one of the most basic physiological needs of human beings. This basic need has been handled only in terms of providing the necessary conditions for the survival of mankind until today. However, food is not only a need for maintaining life but also a phenomenon which enables us to enjoy life, removes us from the captive effect of fast life, at the same time. It expresses a situation that brings us together with our traditional values, enables us to comprehend the meaning of life and leads us to bring our roots to the future. One of the best ways for achieving this is the Slow Food Movement. Slow Food is an international movement aiming common cultural and gastronomic sustainability. At the same time, Slow Food defends the bio-diversity of food, agriculture around the world. It protects domestic or wild animal and vegetable species. It mediates for the consciousness of the consumer. It endeavors to ensure the sustainability of the cultural identities which are depended on food and gastronomic traditions. It researches the processing techniques inherited from tradition In the field of food and agriculture. Today when fast food eating habits are spreading, becoming prevalent and effective of slow food movement which serves as a bridge to reach healthy food, undoubtedly depends on supporting. For this reason, in this study the tasks and the responsibilities of the municipalities in the implementation of the Slow Food Movement which is also the basis of the Cittaslow movement are researched
