High School Students and Mathematics in the Light of Attitude, Success and Gender

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the attitudes of high school students towards mathematics, mathematical academics achievement, class levels and gender relations with each other. Research is in the descriptive model. In the research, "mathematics attitude scale" was used to collect data. The scores of the students were accepted as academic achievement grades. Data were collected during the 2017-2018 academic year and analyzed using SPSS 21. This research was conducted with 381 high school students. As a result of the analyses there is no significant difference in the attitudes of the students towards the mathematics course by gender; there are significant differences between classes 12th and 10th and 11th in terms of classes. Mathematics course grades of students who study in the 12th class are significantly lower than grades of students who study in the 10th and 11th class
