THE ESTABLISHMENT OF DIYARBEKIR WOMEN’S BRANCH OF THE OTTOMAN NAVY LEAGUE AND ITS ACTIVITIES (DECEMBER 1910- JANUARY 1911)

The League of National Support of the Navy, which was changed its name to the Ottoman Navy League in 1913, was a voluntary popular association established in 19th July, 1909 to rally support for the strengthening of the Ottoman Navy. Although the League emerged as a civil initiative, especially after 1913 its semi-official character became more intense. For this aim the association carried out extensive popular campaigns.
