THE ESTABLISHMENT OF DIYARBEKIR WOMEN’S BRANCH OF THE OTTOMAN NAVY LEAGUE AND ITS ACTIVITIES (DECEMBER 1910- JANUARY 1911)Keywords: Donanma-yi Osmani Muavenet-i Milliye Cemiyeti Abstract: The League of National Support of the Navy, which was changed its name to the Ottoman Navy League in 1913, was a voluntary popular association established in 19th July, 1909 to rally support for the strengthening of the Ottoman Navy. Although the League emerged as a civil initiative, especially after 1913 its semi-official character became more intense. For this aim the association carried out extensive popular campaigns. Shortly after its foundation, the provincial branches of the Navy League were formed and according to archival sources, the Women’s Branches of the Ottoman Navy League such as ?stanbul, Kad?k?y, Kastamonu, ??kodra and Diyarbekir were activ
