Abstract:

Abstract Introduction:The aim of this study is to identify the factors that may affect the he-alth of medical students and to apply the treatment. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out on semester 2 students, at In?nü University Faculty of Medicine, between November and December 2017. Blood samples were collected from all the students and complete blood count, vitamin D, vitamin B12 levels, and hepatitis A and hepatitis B immunity were evaluated. Results: A total of 128 students were included in the study. Their mean age was 21.02years. We found that, 1,25% of the students had anemia, 81,2% had vitamin D deficiency, 5,5% had vitamin B12 deficiency, 63,3% weren’t immune to HAV and 1,6% we-ren’t immune to HBV. Conclusion: We found that the ratio of the students those were not immune to HAVand those had vitamin D deficiency were significantly high. Medical students should becanned for hepatitis A and hepatitis B immunity and incom-plete vaccinations should be completed before they contactwith patients. It should also be aimed at improving the productivity of the students by treating anemia and vitamin Ddeficiency, which affects achievement in education. We suggest that these tests should be included in screening prog-rams and standardized in all Medical students
