A Group of Loan Contracts Belonged to A？？ur-？ab, from 1949 Excavation Season of Kültepe (Kt. b/k)

The oldest written documents of Anatolia belong to the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period. Private archives of Assyrian traders, which have been found in Kültepe are mostly and naturally deal with commercial and economic issues of the merchants. This study focuses on 14 Old Assyrian cuneiform documents belonged to A？？ur-？ab, found in the 1949 excavation season of Kültepe. Eight documents have been evaluated with their envelopes. These documents which shed light on the commercial life of the 1900s BC., reflect different practices of the Assyrian merchants dealing with the Anatolian native peoples in commercial matters. These documents also provide clues about the social and cultural life of the period.
