A Second Constitutional Period Urban Madrasah Library: Library Of Bursa Tedrisat-i Cedide-i Ilmiye

Discussions about the madrasah reform were intensified with the Second Constitutional era and the libraries came to the agenda as extensions of new madrasah models. The Tedrisat-？ Cedide-i ？lmiye Library in Bursa, which is the subject of this article, is thought to be designed as a new madrasah library model. This article focuses on the directive of the library in question. Because the directive is elaboration of the rules of the library administration in detail and the rules give too many details about the new form of madrasah libraries. This study examines establishment of a library in province, its space, management, collection development and user services.
