Investigation of Toxoplasma Gondii IgM, IgG and Brucella Abortus Antibodies in Women Older Than TwentyKeywords: Toxoplasma gondiiIgM,IgG,Brucella abortus Abstract: Abstract Toxoplasma is a kind of protozoon found in nature. Toxoplasma gondiiis tissue parasite that can cause infection in human beings by the way of eating undercooked meat, cat’s stools, taking contaminated infective ookists of transplacental ways. The mother’simmune system protects the fetus against the infection. Therefore for the developmentof congenital toxoplasma, mother must be infected during the pregnancy. The frequencyof congenital infection changes to the period of pregnancy. The illness is seen rate of %10-25 in the first trimester, %30-54 in the second trimester, and %60-65 in the last trimester. When it is seen in the first trimester, there may be spontaneous abortion, dead birth, or serious health problems. Sometimes after the birth there may be no symptom or sign onthe baby. In the babies that born without sign or symphtom, korioretinit, cross eye, anemia, petechia, hepatitis, ensefalit, pneumonia, microcephaly, calcifications in the head, hydrocephalus, cognitive and psychomotor retardationmay develop. This study aimed of the Toxoplasma gondiilgM and lgG by ELISA metod, and Brucella abortussero-positivity by tube aglutination method in serum specimensof over 20 years old women who live in the region of Malatya. According to the results of the study; while Toxoplasma gondiiIgM positivity was detected in 10 (3.7%) of 270serum samples, Toxoplasma gondiiIgG positivity was de-tected in 74 (37.7%) of 270 serum samples. Brucellaabortusantibodies was not detected in any the 270 serumspecimens. Because of the reason that the rate of seronega-tivity in the serums is on a high level, before the pregnancyof the women a scanning of Toxoplasma gondiimay be appropriat
