In the 14th century, after Azerbaijan came under Russian rule, Islamic religious and religious education was banned in Azerbaijan; serious pressures were also applied to Sufis. In this process, all inhibitants of some villages in the North Caucasus and Azerbaijan were obligated to migrate to Anatolia together with their followers. One of the religious scholars who settled in Amasya and Tokat is Mevlana ?smail ?irvani and Mir Hamza Nigari. One of the followers of Sheikh Nigari was Mehmet Sebattin, who was born in Kutakas (Kabele) region of Sheki in Northern Azerbaijan in 1843. Sebati, who migrated with his family to Erzurum and from there to Amasya, has Persian and Turkish eulogium and ghazals. Another name close to Sheikh Nigari is Nigarizade Mahmut Efendi, the grandson of Nigar Hanim. He was born in 1883 in Karaka? village of Karaba? and died in 1913 in Amasya. One of the young people that Mir Hamza Nigari educated was Bahaeddin Efendi who moved from Sheki to Kars and from there to Amasya. Mir Hamza Nigari and his many followers such as Sadi Karaba?i, Nigarizade Mahmut and Bahaeddin Efendi made Amasya and Tokat regions an Azerbaijani cultur centre in a sense
