Children’s Magazines as An Educational Tool: ‘‘Mavi K?rlang??’’ Children MagazinKeywords: ?ocuk,‘Mavi K?rlang??’ ?ocuk Dergisi,?ocuk Dergileri Abstract: In addition to providing information flow to individuals, media also has functions of creating public opinion, culture transfer, socialization, politicization. Media is to be seen as an educational tool expecially considering the child mass. Children’s newspapers and magazines support children’s identity development and socialization. These publications increase the desire for reading and learning, develop spirutial and mental intellegance by directing chidren to think,conribute to the useful transtion of leisure time. Readers can reveal their talents that they have not yet discovered,relaxing and having fun. In this context, children’s magazine publishing is curricial.One of the biggest problems of today’s press is the transformation of media messages into buying and selling materials.Each one is marketed as popular culture materials as a product of the culture industry. In this context, all contents are moving away from informative educational culture-enhancing features and starting to support the promotion and advertising sector.Children’s publications have begun to differentiate within the framework of this change and transformation, and instead of educational educational publications, they have started to be equipped with the products of popular culture heroes of the period as well as publications. In this study, ‘Mavi K?rlang??’ Magazines determined numbers published by Ye?ilay,as a non governmental orgaznization,being examined with descriptive method and the status of the magazine within the context of promotion culture and advertising accordind to childrens magazine will be discussed and evaluated. In the findings and conclusion sections, it is seen that the journal is a journal which contains mainly educational and instructive texts, which are far from the culture, the language, the style and the images and the promotion and advertising culture
