Human - wildlife conflict in natural protected areas

This research was carried out to determine human and wildlife conflict in natural protected areas, within K？z？lda？ National Park and Kovada Lake National Park. Literature and documentation analysis, interviews, surveys and wildlife field observations were used to carry out in this study. Research findings indicate that there are occasional conflicts between animals and people living in protected areas. Agriculture and livestock are the most important occupations in these regions, in which villagers earn their livelihoods. A significant portion of agricultural land lies within the boundaries of protected areas. Since these areas are close to wildlife habitats, wild animals can damage agricultural land. On the other hand, by taking measures to protect agricultural land through the use of chemical fertilizers and sprays human beings can harm wildlife. Other factors causing conflict are livestock, hunting, etc. Effective management of protected areas for the prevention of conflicts, long-term development plans and local participation in this process are essential. Prepared plans must not be ignored but it must be transferred to practice
