Integration of Solar Power Plant to Energy Distribution Network and Relay Coordination

Nowadays, new improvments are implemented in energy sector as other study fields with the assistance of improving technology. The improvments in energy sector take a part in generation, transmission, distribution and communication systems. The power generation system improvments and studies are mostly focussed on renewables where the main focus area is implementation of smart grid systems for distribution, transmission and protection systems. In this study, it is aimed to integrate a solar power plant to IEEE 13 bus network in the smart grid concept on ETAP environment. The study consists of observation of integration criteria via load flow and short circuit analysis. After ensuring the integration criteria are met, relay coordination studies are conducted along with fault scenario analysis and the solar power plant is connected to the existing network. It is also aimed to use solar power plant as an emergency power supply for critical loads
