Issue Management As A Strategic Function Of Public Relations: The Analysis Of Issue Management In A Civil Aviation CompanyKeywords: Stratejik Halkla ?li?kiler,konu y?netimi,halkla ili?kiler Abstract: Today, an organization is faced with a wide range of publics in different areas and more likely be faced with a lot of different issues to meet with success accordingly. Therefore, it is basic necessity for an organization to establish and implement processes which identify these issues in a proactive approach; analyze, evaluate and manage them with the appropriate strategies. In this direction the concept of issue management, both creating a mutually beneficial environment among stakeholders with the institutions and aiming at reconciling differences of opinion is discussed in this study. It is aimed that issue management, a strategic function of public relations is investigated through an international civil aviation company in Turkey. The findings of the study is considered both as a stimulating guide to the crises that are constantly taking place in the aviation industry and is considered to contribute to the managerial strategies related to the future of the industry. The data was obtained from semi-structured interviews with the managers of a civil aviation company and the data was evaluated using descriptive analysis. As a result, it is considered as promising that the managers, working as key positions in a leading company in civil aviation sector, have developed the idea that each issues that cannot be managed can affect the corporate reputation and financial outcomes negatively
