THE FACTORS OF AFFECTING THE VOLUME OF RETAIL SALES: ARDL BORDER TEST APPROACH

The retail sector has a very important place in the economic structure in all countries. Because there are many fields of activity directly interacting with consumers in this sector. Therefore; changing and developments in the volume of retail sales present very important information about future of economy. In this research short and long term relationship between the index of volume of retail sales and macroeconomic variables affecting it in Turkey 2012: 01-2017: 02 period is tried to study with ARDL bounds test model. Although there is a long-term relationship between variables according to the findings of the analysis, it is not confirmed that such a relationship exists in the short term
