NOVEMBER 10, 1938: THE GREAT LOSS REFLECT？ON ？N URFA COUNTY

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, died on the 10th of November, 1938. This loss had deeply affected not only Turkey, but also the entire world. This study reveals the effect of Atatürk’s death on the province of Urfa by using archive documents and the local press. Besides, the study is supported by stories told by the witnesses of that era. The effect of the great sorrow on the people of Urfa and the funeral service are tried to be presented in the light of documents
