Luwian Effect on the Greek Pantheon: Pegasos Example

In the ancient world there are interactions between contemporary or successive civilizations. These interactions are reflected in the religious structure. Indeed, in the perceptions of religion of civilizations or in the pantheon of gods, it is possible to see changes due to time and geography. Accordingly, the Greek Pantheon was heavily influenced by Mesopotamia and Anatolia. Located within the scope of our subject Luwi Pantheon and the Greek Pantheon can be synchronized. Examples are Tivad and Helios, Herakles and Santa. At the same time as of result of these interactions, it can be said that new members of the pantheon can participate easily. The Greek winged horse Pegasos has taken its place in the Greek Pantheon under the influence of the lightning Storm God, a local type of Tarhu in the Luwians. In this study, it is aimed to analyze this interaction in the example of Pegasos. In this context, the cuneiform documents, archaeological findings, Greek myths and researches by scientists who are closely related to the subject will be benefited
