ECONOMIC POLITIC TRANSFORMATION OF KOZA-IPEK AND FEZA GROUPS: THE SAMPLE OF 12 JUNE 2011 AND 7 JUNE 2015 GENERAL ELECTION

News is one of the most important tools in hegemony struggle and consent poroduction. As the media organizations transform the events into news, they from new discourses as a result of the economic-political structures. These discourses are often structurally harmful to reality and are designed to serve the reality that is desired to be created. In this study, van Dijk’s analysis of critical discourse analysis of the news of the June 12, 2011 and June 7, 2015 general elections in the Zaman and Today newspapers was resolved. The rhtetoric of the news includes differences in both election periods in the Zaman and Today newspapers. While both newspapers supported the Ak Party in 2011, they followed a reserve publication policy in 2015 due to the struggle they had with power in the last period.
