Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the satisfaction levels of the nurses who work in a private hospital, from the clinical career ladder model. Methods: This descriptive study was performed on 174 nurses working in a private hospital that constituted the clinical career ladder model. Data were collected from a total of 96 nurses. Data were collected by a self-reported questionnaire that was developed by the researchers. Surveys were distributed to the nurses who accepted to participate in the study by one of the researchers via visiting each clinic of the hospital between September 1 and October 30, 2017. After one week from the first visit the nurses were revisited, and the same researcher collected questionnaires. Results: It was determined that the nurses mostly had information about the clinical career ladder model and they were considering applying to the model. The ratio of those who were generally satisfied with the model was 16.7%, the ratio of those who were partially satisfied was 53.1% and the rate of those who were not satisfied was 30.2%. It was determined that almost half of the nurses stated that the clinical career ladder model did not contribute to the occupational-personal development (43.8%) and time staying in the institution (55.2%). Different from them, the other half of the nurses stated that the expansion of the clinical ladder model would reflect the service quality positively (45.8%) and the model should be applied in other institutions (41.7%). Conclusion: Most of the nurses in the study stated that they were generally or partially satisfied with the model. However, it is recommended that the implementation to be improved and developed by considering the feedbacks of dissatisfied nurses
