Nowadays, women have the opportunity to work depending on their educational status. In addition, families with low economic income, who have migrated to cities, make it necessary for their women members to work. The fact that women earn their living by finding employment opportunities decreases the chances of gender inequality. Therefore, women's employment and income are important. However, employment and income do not completely eliminate the problems stemming from women's gender roles. Especially women who work in low-paid jobs cannot obtain independent decision-making power on their income. At this point, it is important to examine how low-wage women use their income. This study evaluates the relationship between the changes in gender roles and how women working in low wage jobs use their income. First of all, the change in the roles of women in society is discussed. Then the employment and income situation of women in Turkey are evaluated. In the findings of the study, the data obtained as a result of interviews with 41 women working through ??KUR were analyzed. As a result, it was found that women who work for low wages used their income to meet the basic needs of their families and their children's expenses. Although the findings showed that women working at low wages could not use their incomes to meet their personal needs in line with their independent decisions, they did not have too many complaints about their working. Women believe that they should make sacrifices as spouses and mothers because they have internalized their gender roles. No matter how hard they work, they are determined not to change their thought that they have to use their income to meet the needs of family members, especially for their children
