Evaluation of Occupational Safety in Health Care Organizations within Occupational Health and Safety: A Research on Medical Secretaries Which Work in a University HospitalKeywords: Sa?l?k Kurumlar?,Mesleki Risk ve Tehlikeler,T?bbi Sekreterler,?? Güvenli?i Abstract: Among health care workers there are biological, chemical, environmental, mechanic and biomechanical risks and hazards which treat the health care worker’s occupational health and safety conditions in Health Care Organizations. These risks and hazards lead to significant economic and social losses for governments, health care organizations and health care workers. The aim of this study to investigate occupational safety (OS) applications in the one university hospital based on health care workers’ views. A cross-sectional study was conducted and target population of this study is 299 medical secretaries which work in Dokuz Eylul University Hospital (DEUH) in Izmir Province-Turkey. 168 participants were selected as a sample. For data collection was used “Occupational Safety Scale (OSS) for Health Care Personnel Working in Hospital” (1= strongly Disagree, 6= strongly Agree) which developed by ?ztürk and Babacan (2012). For data analyzing used SPSS 23.0. The Cronbach alpha coefficient for OSS was .95). According to the results of the research, occupational safety of DEUH was found middle level (147.3±40). The dimension of “occupational diseases and complaints” (32.8±13.7) was found the best and the dimension of “critical field’s control” (14.4±6.1) was found the worst dimension for ensuring OS in DEUH
