The Change of Oncu Newspaper, Which Had Been Trying to Support the Legitimacy Of the Military Coup of May 27, 1960, With the Trendline of the YTP and TIP

The subject of this study is, how the relationship of ？ncü Newspaper, started publication following the coup of May 27, 1960, between August 26, 1960 and November 17, 1962, with New Turkey Party (YTP) and the Workers Party of Turkey (TIP), reflected on the content of the newspaper depending on the changes in its management. Beginning its publication life 3 months after the Military Coup of May 27, ？ncü stands in an important place in the history of press, in terms of spreading the ideas and beliefs of the new power and trying to ensure the legitimacy of the coup. It is clear that ？ncü was published under the influence of Alparslan Türke？ and published to support the ideas of May 27. The relationship with the new political parties is important as well as the main political stance related to the coup leading to the emergence of ？ncü newspaper. In order to explain this relationship and to convey the reflections of this relationship to the character of the newspaper, all published issues of the newspaper were examined and all related texts were analyzed with historical descriptive analysis method. At the end of the study, it was revealed that the fondness of ？ncü with the parties that were newly formed and having different ideologies, significantly reflected on the contents. While the news about YTP in the newspaper was dominant under the direction of Ayd？n Yal？？n, the liberal economy was defended and the statism policy of CHP was criticized. In 1962, under the direction of Kuvvet Ba？ar？r and Mü？erref Hekimo？lu, fondness to TIP was apparent with the subjects such as union, worker news, working relations, women’s work life being frequently available on the pages.
