Evaluation of Irrigation Management in Isparta Province Irrigation Cooperatives

In this study, it was aimed to determine the satisfaction levels of cooperative members in terms of irrigation management in irrigation cooperatives operating in Isparta province and to suggest solutions to the determined problems. The study was carried out on 16 irrigation cooperatives at which water was distributed with pressurized irrigation systems. The total number of members was 3,452 at the cooperatives mentioned in the research. A questionnaire study was carried out with 169 members considering the formula of the proportional sampling method in the selection of the members. As a result of the research, it was determined that 72.8% of the members were aged over 50 and that 68% of them were primary school graduates. The rate of those with more than 5 pieces of land out of the members participating in the questionnaire was 76.3%, while the rate of those with low-very low levels of satisfaction with the agricultural activities was 62.1%. The rate of members of cooperatives who stated that no training on irrigation was provided was 77.5%. Whilst 29% of the members stated their satisfaction with irrigation as low-very low, 40.8% of them expressed it as high-very high, but 46.7% of them stated that they could receive irrigation water whenever they wanted. While 64.5% of the members thought that the water fee was high-very high, only 31.3% of the managers considered it high-very high. The rate of those who stated that they paid the irrigation water fee on time was 89.3% in the study area. 71% of the members who participated in the questionnaire found the irrigation cooperatives more successful among the irrigation organizations but stated that they demanded the state control
