A METHOD FOR CASE SELECTION IN STRATEGIC URBAN PLANNING

Strategic planning application is frequent in urban practices. In order to understand this type of planning in a better way, urban researches use and take over good examples of practices from other countries. The choice is most often made without consideration for the context the examples are taken from or the characteristics of the urban planning process. In practice, it results in the strategies which are not implemented and the plans which are not realized. The aim of the conducted research is to simplify the urban planners and researchers' choice of compatible good practice cases from different types of environment. This is achieved by creation of evaluation model, whose role is to help select examples from different environments compatible with the environment where the research is conducted
