Objective: To explore cause and countermeasures of falling out of bed for a long-term bedridden elderly patient. Methods: The paper summarized and analyzed a case of falling out of bed in a long-term bedridden elderly patient in our hospital emergency ward, found the deficiencies and defects, and then improved in a timely manner. Results: Prevention in patients with occurrence of falling out of bed is a very important role in nursing work. The nursing staff not only meets the demand of basic care and treatment of patients, but also ensures the safety of patients. Conclusion: Nursing staff should pay attention to the threat factors of patient safety at any time, and properly handle in time, and should also continue to strengthen the nursing theory study, analyze and summarize nursing experience, improve the overall quality, to prevent medical safety accidents
