This paper presents the implementation and comparison of algo-rithms for support vector machines “SVM” and AdaBoost in theclassification of public and private vehicles using segmented imagesof video sequences taken in Bogotá city. Using as tools the OpenCVlibraries implemented in C. The algorithms performances are re-markable and therefore its use could have a positive impact in thereduction of traffic problems
