陕北民歌是陕北人民表达感情最直接、最真实、最优美的艺术形式，陕北民歌里的意象，是劳动者主观情感和客观事物的交融。本文以陕北民歌信天游为研究对象，并结合现有译本，以象征手法为切入点，运用象征主义理论，将信天游的英译本中出现的具有象征意义的意象进行分类，主要从语言文化意象、自然文化意象和社会文化意象考察象征手法在译本中的运用及其象征意义，探讨了象征手法在原文本和译本中揭示的主题思想和再现的文化特征。
Northern Shaanxi folk songs are the most direct, authentic and beautiful art form for people in Northern Shaanxi to express their feelings. The images in Northern Shaanxi folk songs are the combination of subjective feelings and objective things of laborers. This paper takes Wandering Chants, a folk song in Northern Shaanxi, as the research object, combines the existing translation, and classifies the symbolic images in the English translation of Wandering Chants with the sym-bolism theory as the entry point. It mainly examines the application and symbolic significance in the translation from the perspectives of linguistic cultural images, natural cultural images and socio-cultural images, and explores the thematic ideas and cultural characteristics of symbolism revealed in the original text and the translation.
