Abstract:

《英语语言教学材料:理论与实践》是一本理论与实践相结合的以实证论文集形式呈现的教材。通览全书,本文首先介绍该书梗概和主要内容,接着总结归纳了此书的特色和不足,然后为其今后的修订提出了一些建议,最后总体品评了该书的研究重要性。通过对该书的介评,旨在为学术英语和专门用途英语学习者提供有价值的课堂学习经验,为语言教学材料的设计、实施和评价提供最新的案例分析研究成果。同时,本书关于课程设计的讨论对于各个教学层面的外语教师都是有一定价值和借鉴意义的。
“English language teaching materials: Theory and Practice” is a textbook of the combination of theory and practice for materials from empirical perspectives. It first introduces the outline and main contents of the book, then summarizes the typical features and deficiencies, puts forward some suggestions for its future revision, and last evaluates the significance of the book. It provides significant classroom learning experience for both ESP (English for specific purpose) and EAP (English for academic purpose) learners. Meanwhile, it proposes latest case studies of the design, implementation and development of various kinds of language material for both pedagogical and non-pedagogical purposes. The discussions on curriculum design are meaningful and insightful for foreign language teachers at all levels of teaching.
