Borase Abstract: Miconazole nitrate (MN) is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that has been extensively applied for the management of dermal, buccal and vaginal candidiasis. In this study, Mucoadhesive patches were prepared with tamarind gum and HPMC. Mucoadhesive patches containing 10 mg miconazole nitrate were evaluated. The patches were evaluated with respect to their in vitro drug release, mucoadhesive strength, folding endurance, buccal residence time, convenient bioadhesion, acceptable elasticity, swelling and surface pH were obtained. The FT-IR spectroscopy revealed no interaction between drug and polymer and compare the evaluation parameter between tamarind gum and HPMC. Thus the tamarind gum could be a promising vehicle for the fabrication of buccal patches
