The Party of Right’s Ideology and the Year 1914

Sa？etak Based on a comparative analysis of sources related to the topic, the author examines the complex behavior of the members of various right’s parties and groups up to the outbreak of the First World War, starting from the fact that prior to and during the war rightists were a major ideological component among the Croats, owing to its heterogeneity and party complexities. The author also points out the commonalities and differences among those promoting Croatian rights in regard to the position of Croatia in Austro-Hungary, reflections of the original rights principles, and attitudes toward the southern Slav question. The investigation focuses on pre-war efforts to restructure the Monarchy based on critiques of dualism, analysis of the policies the heir presumptive to the Austro-Hungarian throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and an assessment of the atmosphere after he was assassinated in Sarajevo
