The Committe for the Erection of a Monument to Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer

Sa？etak A civil association with an initiative to raise monuments was organized in Osijek in 1905. The committee organizes a wide variety of collecting resources, creating appropriate medals made of precious metals with the character of the bishop, throws fund-raisers etc. A relatively high capital created by fund-raising is deteriorating by the fall of the Austro-Hungarian crown so the entire initiative ultimately failed. The creation of the monument was disturbed by World War I
