Sa？etak Der Beitrag interpretiert die Verweise auf die Musik (Bruckner, Strauss) in Helmut Kraussers Roman UC und leitet daraus ein Modell von künstlerischer Autorschaft ab. Konkreter Ausgangspunkt ist die geheimnisvolle Bemerkung des Erz？hlers, dass die Hauptfigur, der Dirigent Arndt Hermannstein, Bruckner in den Grenzen von '42 dirigieren würde. An den musikgeschichtlichen Bezügen wird gezeigt, wie der Roman daraus eine literarische Allmachtsphantasie entwickelt, in der der Raum zur Metapher von Musik in ihrem ？sthetischen Anspruch wird. A concrete starting point is the narrator’s mysterious remark that the protagonist, the conductor Arndt Hermannstein, will conduct Bruckner within the framework of ’42. References to the history of music show how the novel develops into a literary phantasy on omnipotence, in which space becomes a metaphor for music in its aesthetic claim.
