MUSEUM WORK AT A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY – CROSSCURRICULAR INTEGRATION ON THE EXAMPLE OF NATIONAL HISTORY

Sa？etak This time the example of cross-curricular integration between school and museum is highlighted, which took place outside institutional (museum and school) environment. Like nowadays the people’s university cooperation with was successful, specially outside the institutional environment where pupils were learning and getting to know the capital, Ljubljana. With museum cooperation of City museum of Ljubljana the museum work took place in Ljubljana and near river Ljubljanica. Museum work seemed to be a very great way of working outside and offered an indirect contact with the environment and surroundings where pupils could easy imagine events centuries ago and thought what Ljubljanica meant for city’s population and what role it played in that time. Museum work carried out in the context of all day activity was implemented for 7th class pupils at people’s university, at the same time it was based on solving the worklists with tasks, observing the surroundings and landscape, (historical) buildings and bustle in the city
