DIGITAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE OF TOURIST DESTINATION - EXAMPLE eVisitor

Sa？etak This paper focuses on the area of monitoring the development of tourist destination and aims to examine to what extent international digital information systems are developed in tourism destinations, as well as to show the first results of implementation of innovative project eVisitor, as a system for monitoring tourism flows in the Republic of Croatia. The paper, in addition to a brief theoretical framework, also presents recommendations and guidelines of relevant tourist organizations and associations at the international level, with the presentation of several successful regional, national and cross-border projects aimed at building integrated systems for monitoring the development of tourist destinations. In addition, the paper describes the eVisitor system and examines the first experiences of the user of the system. The paper concludes with recommendations and guidelines for the further development of information management systems in the context of sustainable development of tourist destinations
