TO THE QUESTION OF THE LEGAL APPROXIMATION BETWEEN THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Sa？etak The paper gives description of the process of convergence of norms of legal systems of the European Union and the Russian Federation — their approximation. The regulatory framework for this process is considered, and its development trends are also characterized. The author analyzes the essential elements of the approximation process, notes his unilateral nature in relation to the legal system of the Russian Federation, indicating that Russia has no opportunity to influence the EU rulemaking. The reasons that reduce effectiveness of the process of legal approximation of Russian law with law of the European Union are distinguished
