Mathematical Chemistry

Sa？etak A brief description is given of the historical development of mathematics and Chemistry. A path leading to the meeting of these two Sciences is described. An attempt is made to define mathematical Chemistry, and journals containing the term mathematical Chemistry in their titles are noted. In conclusion, the statement is made that although Chemistry is an experimental Science aimed at preparing new compounds and materials, mathematics is very useful in Chemistry among other things, to produce models that can guide experimental work to a target by the shortest possible route
