Q fever in general practice - case report

Sa？etak Q fever is an acute, chronic infectious disease caused by Coxiella burnetii, pleomorphic, intracellular bacillus. Clinical symptoms range from mild, such as elevated temperature with no signs of pneumonia causing the infection to remain unrecognized, to severe with dominant neurological manifestations. Serological method, microorganism isolation or PCR is important for diagnosis confirmation. Tetracyclines, macrolides and quinolones are used in the treatment.
