FINDINGS AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE OF CANDIDATUS PHYTOPLASMA SOLANI (STOLBUR OF PHYTOPLAZMA) AND THE POSSIBILITY OF ITS EXPANSION TO OTHER ECONOMIC CULTURES IN CROATIAKeywords: phytoplasmas, 'Candidatus phytoplasma solani' (CPs), weed plants, insect vectors, epidemiology Abstract: Sa?etak Recently described species 'Candidatus Phytoplasma solani' (CPs), previously known as stolbur phytoplasma, has a broad host plant range, including various herbaceous and woody plants. Numerous weedy plants act as primary hosts and pathogen reservoirs for their respective insect vectors. CPs is associated with many diseases affecting economically important crops including grapevine (bois noir), corn (maize redness), lavander (yellow decline of lavender) and potato (potato stolbur phytoplasma). This article briefly describes these diseases with special accent on symptoms, epidemiology and control measures
