Sa？etak The author of the paper analyses the policy of the communist regime in Yugoslavia towards priestly emigration on the example of the Croatian Franciscan Commissariat in Chicago. The Yugoslav authorities conditioned the more liberty for the Church and Franciscan order with the changes in the Commissariat, which would prevent the anti-Yugoslav activities of the Franciscans there.
