Colonatic and agricultural relations in medieval Split and Trogir (XIII - XV century)

Sa？etak Based on the 106 Trogir‘s and 41 Split’s agricultural contracts, this paper analyzes the colonial and agricultural relations in the same area by comparing and linking them with the wider Dalmatian and Mediterranean context. In doing so, the paper problematizes the conceptual apparatus in the existing literature, which is terminologically inconsistent and sometimes even contradictory. By using sources and literature, the paper presents the reasons that led to the spatio-temporal and structural longevity of colonial and agricultural relations in Dalmatia
