Safety margin comparison for the concept of allowable stresses and limit stability analysis of slopes

Sa？etak The general analysis between the old and new regulatory concepts implementation in geotechnical engineering is performed. Design procedures problems in the light of the use of limit states in relation to the concept of allowable stresses is detailed in. The interrelationship between the safety margins in the stability analysis of slopes is quantified. In the light of the new design patterns new terminology proposals are given.
