Sa？etak Project management is one of the basic tools of modern business. Any human endeavor in which three elements are important: deadlines, costs and quality, requires the application of project management principles. Of course, any such undertaking should be carried out within the legal framework. One of the basic legal mechanisms for fulfilling the required conditions in construction projects is the construction contract. It distributes construction risks and determines the essential elements for successful project implementation. For this reason, the construction contract deserves special attention already in the initial phase of the construction project.In this paper, an analysis of the essential components of a construction contract is conducted from the aspect of construction project management.
