Everyday Routines as Transformative Processes: A Sporting Case

Currently, there is scant sociological research on everyday routines within sport and also upon other routines which make sporting routines themselves possible. This article adds to that very small literature, illustrating how movement between the contexts of paid employment, sport, and home is habitually accomplished. Utilizing qualitative data from a collaborative autoethnography on distance running, a case study of the routines of getting ready for, doing, and leaving daily training sessions is portrayed.
